On the first night that it got below freezing, which was a few weeks ago, I remembered to cover my plants. Last night, however, I was not so clever. The leave of my poor tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and basil have all withered and died in the chilly October night.

But, that's the circle of life. The dead plants will make for really happy new plants in the spring. Plus, I've still got one beet alive and kicking, and some winter kale that can be picked out of fresh December snow.
